REIQ Calls for Prioritization of Social Housing Supply

The Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) has praised the State Government's initiative to accelerate three social and affordable housing projects on the Gold Coast. The REIQ's CEO, Antonia Mercorella, highlighted the importance of the 200-unit Southport Supportive Accommodation project in addressing the growing homelessness crisis and providing essential support to vulnerable Queenslanders. With the Gold Coast's rental market experiencing a severe shortage, particularly at the affordable end, the REIQ emphasized the need for innovative housing solutions to ensure that everyone has a safe and secure place to call home.
